The ZZPERFORMANCE website was not originally part of my workload or job description. Very early on into my career here I realized that our web experience was lacking compared to our competition and general trends of product to consumer facing companies. With some ideas and inspirations already gathered, I designed a few mockup websites and presented them to the team. After refining my design with team feedback I started implementing my ideas on our live customer-facing site. I quickly became familiar with the site’s back-end software, apps, features, and code so I was the go-to person leading the website from then on.

Once the site was moved to a more flexible live service platform, I could make updates in real time and constantly grow the catalog as well as push the design and branding. We found many ways to incorporate advertising, featured products, our in depth tech articles, and link everything with our ever-growing social media channels. Working closely with a technical team, I added more features and apps for customer experience, ie email blasts, product wish lists, optimized search engine, installation / use instructions and videos attached to products.

Eventually we lost our tech help on the project which led me to quickly learning how to manage that side so I could not only be the visuals and designer for our online front, but also know the ins and outs of the technical construction under the hood. We have had four major updates to the site now all lead by myself. New products are added weekly as well as our main carousel showcasing our newest products, latest tech article, new informational YouTube video, or company’s green pledge, as well as a slide to show a more in depth features of a struggling product that needs more promotion. Customers are led to either select a platform, pick a product type, or explore our tech resources, all which next point them towards the products they are interested in. From there they can either add to cart or get more information on the parts and their vehicle. This living site is updated daily, monitored for analytics and stats, and I design fun refreshes on themed holidays, as well a large sales such a Black Friday / Cyber Monday.
